When I marched in the San Francisco pride parade last week, this is the dress I wore. I left my wedges behind and went for a pair of sparkly sneakers, but that was the only concession I was willing to make to comfort. We all got dressed up in our Sunday best, and I wanted to take that one step further as a nod to our Mormon heritage, so I went in a dress I sewed myself. Although I think this dress is way cuter than the dresses my pioneer ancestors were making for themselves. They didn’t have the benefit of fabric designed by a crafter.

I love that dress. Do you care to share the pattern?
Sure! It's Simplicity 2172, part of their easy fit collection. It's a great pattern.
Thank you!
Hi again. Would you double-check that pattern number, please? Maybe you transposed some digits or something? Simplicity 2172 is a Victorian era costume.
Thank you.
