A million years ago I worked at Wet Seal. It was my very first job, I was just barely 16, and I was completely horrible at it. The training video told us to stop every person who walked through the door and personally help them find something. They demonstrated by the salesperson actually taking a customer’s other bags away to find something to match with what they’d already bought. Can you imagine what you would do if a salesgirl started looking through your bags? I’d push her away and tell her to mind her own dang business and high tail it right back out the door. Which is probably why I sucked at working there. But my time there did give me an appreciation for their sales rack. If you can sort through the weird and the juvenile and the ugly, you may be able to find yourself something great for a fraction of a price.
