As soon as I saw the ribbon I used on this skirt, I had to have it. I had no idea what I was going to make, but I loved it and it was dirt cheap, so I uncharacteristically just bought it because I loved it. I loved it so much I decided I wanted to cover a whole skirt with it, but I didn’t have enough. So I went with the suggestion of a flapper skirt instead of a literal look.

The trick is that you need to seal the ribbons so they can hang loose without fraying. My favorite way of doing it is with the i-cutter from imaginisce. Go here for a full tutorial.

Have you washed the ribbon yet? Did it really hold up? GREAT idea!
